Greenwich boys defeated Canajoharie Saturday night at HVCC with a score of 61-36. The Coaches vs Cancer event helps raise money for the American Cancer Society.

GCS Indoor Track & Field Team Turns Up The Volume at The Armory New York City, 12/12- In addition to solid performances, the Witches demonstrated outstanding team spirit and support for teammates at the Coach Saint Invite.
In the best finish of the day for the Witches, Arriyana Derby was 4 th in the girls 55M hurdles with a time of 9.32. In the boys section, Emerson DuBois ran 10.66 and Rory Moore closed in 10.95.
Finn Murray ran to a time of 8.58 in the 55M dash and in the boys race, Wyatt Cary ran 7.26, Noah Ives ran 7.35 and Cameron Boardman ran 10.55.
Giulietta Gargano a personal best 3:37.54 in the 1000M girls race. In the boys 1000M race, Sam Dixson ran a personal best time of 2:53.87 and Gunner Alpy dropped a time of 3:09.75.
In the 600M girls race, Catherine Johnson fought to a time of 2:03.50 and in the boys race, Eisley DuBois ran a personal best 1:50.56.
When Kendall Hamilton sped to a personal best of 63.75 in the 400M, the volume of teammates cheering her on stood out even in the large, spirited crowd of the Armory.
In the one mile run, Giulietta Gargano ran 6:19.08 while Sam Dixson logged a 5:07.31 in the boys race.
In the girls 300M, Kendall Hamilton ran 45.19 and was followed by Catherine Johnson, who ran a personal best 50.85. In the boys race, Noah Ives sprinted to a personal best 39.51. Wyatt Cary ran 43:11 and Ian Laird posted a time of 43.54.
In the shot put, Charlotte Collins likely threw a personal best, landing her longest throw just shy of the 25' line, but in this meet, after the first throw, only throws of 25' or more were measured. In the long jump, Emerson DuBois jumped a personal best 17' 11 inches.
The last event of the night for the Witches was the 4x200M. In the girls race, the team of Finn Murray, Giulietta Gargano, Arriyana Derby and Kendall Hamilton ran a competitive time of 2:02.67. In the boys race, the exuberance of teammates in the stands seemed to infect the larger crowd, which caught sight of the two GCS teams in the same race, running neck and neck for four laps of the track. In a roaring finish, the team of Emerson DuBois, Noah Ives, Caedan Baker and Oliver Smith nipped the team of Sam Dixson, Wyatt Cary, Gunner Alpy and Eisley DuBois by final times of 1:52.28 to 1:52.84. It was a fine, enthusiastic ending to a very good night.

Today at the Section 2 Capital Region Boys' Soccer All-Star Banquet the Greenwich Varsity Boys' Soccer Team was recognized as a team for being Wasaren League Champions. During regular season play, the team went undefeated with 16 wins and 1 tie, recording 13 shutouts and only 4 goals against.
Pictured, from left to right are Levi Murray, Owen Shannon, Colin Traver, Johnathan Morency, Coach Tyler McCaskill, Jack Scieszka, Max Nichols, and Hudson Logan. These 7 players were all 1st Team Wasaren League All-Stars. Colin Traver was also named Wasaren League Defensive Player of the Year. Jack Scieszka was awarded Section 2 Class C Keeper of the Year. Coach Tyler McCaskill was named Section 2 Class C Coach of the Year.
Brady Clifton, who was unable to attend tje banquest was named a 2nd Team All-Star. The team also had several players named to the Honorable Mention Team: Mason Foster, Noah Ives, Christian Morency, Wyatt Skiff, and Noah Speanburgh.
Congratulations to the entire team for such a memorable season!
