It was a busy weekend for the Greenwich Central HS indoor track and field throwers. First, on Saturday, January 14th, they traveled to Hanover, New Hampshire for the Dartmouth Relays.

Keegan Collins won the girls 20 lb weight throw competition with a best throw of 45' 8 1/2”, breaking the Greenwich school record of 45' 8”, by Alice Aldrich. Kiersten Alling was third, with a distance 0f 38' 10” and Kylie Lundberg was 5th with a personal record throw of 22' 1”.

For the boys, in the 25 lb weight throw, Noah Davis threw a personal record 44' 1”, for 6th place. Eighth graders Jackson Slater and Peter Chutah turned in outstanding performances of 33' 6” and 27' 9”, respectively.

Two days later, on January 16th, the throwers arrived at Hoosic Valley High School for the Wasaren League weight throw championship. Keegan Collins and Kiersten Alling finished first and second and Alling produced a personal record of 40' 11 1/2”. Collins now ranks ten feet ahead of every weight thrower in Section 2 except Alling, who is five feet ahead of the third ranked girl, Melissa Quinlivan, of Mohonasen.

In the Boys weight throw, Greenwich's Noah Davis won the league title with a new best career throw of 44' 8”. He is now the 5th ranked weight thrower in Section 2. Eighth grade throwing phenom Jackson Slater continued his ascension with a 5th place throw of  35' 6”, a new personal record.  The throwers' next event will be the shot put competition at the overall Wasaren League meet, at Union College.
