Third Grade Stuffed Animal Museum

Our third grade classes have been working hard on our character studies reading unit in the past month. While studying character traits in Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo and Magic Tree House: Sunset of the Sabertooth by Mary Pope Osborne, we’ve been having some fun as well. We have celebrated our progress through this unit so far by wearing book/movie character shirts, shoes that describe us, and dressing up as our favorite character.

On Thursday, the third grade classes held a stuffed animal museum featuring all of our fuzzy friends! The students created an information sheet for their stuffed animal and determined the best chharacter traits to describe their toys. All 3 classes rotated to check out each others’ projects and left a reflective note about the character traits for each “animal” owner. The students loved reading what their friends in other classes had to say and were able to show off their knowledge of character traits in the process!
