Dear Greenwich families,

At approximately 8:40 a.m. today, the district learned of a threat made toward one of our high school students on social media by a student from another school district. Both school districts notified law enforcement immediately and have been in communication ever since. The student who made the threat is known, and this person is currently under supervision.

Greenwich Central School District is working closely with law enforcement, and we have requested that police patrol the grounds through the end of the school day today. We wanted to make you aware in case you noticed the increased police presence.

Please know that the safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our highest priority, and we treat all threats seriously. We thank the students and school district for immediately notifying us and remind everyone: “if you see something, say something.”

Thank you,

 Dr. Jennifer Steimle

Superintendent
