STATE MASK / VACCINATION REQUIREMENT - UPDATE
Late yesterday, the Appellate Division, Second Department of Courts of New York, held a preliminary hearing on the appeal of the decision relative to the NYS Mask Requirement, issued mid-December by Governor Hochul and the New York State Department of Health. At the preliminary hearing, a stay was issued returning the requirement to effect immediately pending further review, presentations and court proceedings. Therefore, the mask requirement (or vaccination requirement, whichever is chosen by the business or organization) is back in effect pending the court action (for reference, previously set to remain in effect through February 1, 2022). Additionally, the NYSDOH - New York State Health Department has published an FAQ page on their site relative to the requirements, read all the details here: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/frequently-asked-questions-proof-full-vaccination-or-mask-requirement-businesses-and-venues

COVID-19 TESTING, QUARANTINE AND ISOLATION PROCESS / COUNTY OPERATIONS UPDATE
We know that with the migration away from contact tracing and transitioning to the state VCC for primary handling of case investigations, the process may be confusing and difficult to navigate. We're here to help! If you encounter a situation that doesn't quite "fit" the criteria as laid out on the state's site, please - reach out, we'll do our best to assist and walk you / your team members through the process. We're continuing to see increases in cases in our own county operations, we want to extend our thanks to our employees for following the health and safety measures in place, staying home when not feeling well and seeking testing to identify a positive case as early as possible (which helps to avoid additional exposures and keep our fellow team members as healthy as we can). Also many thanks to all of our county Department Heads and team members who have been diligent in their reporting of cases and working through and coordinating the case investigations as well as our Buildings & Grounds crew who continues their decontamination efforts in support - all of which helps to keep our employees as safe and healthy as possible while at work and our operations going for the many in our communities who rely on our county operations.
Please, reach out with any questions or needs - our team will help however we can!
