Inserting Clipart – There are many places
to obtain clipart. The most common are the Microsoft Clipart Gallery
and the Microsoft
Online Clipart Gallery. |
- Click
on Insert, then Picture, then
Clipart.
- In the “Insert Clipart” window
next to “Search for clips”, type the keyword that
describes what you are looking for. Remember: typing in “dog” will give
you all clipart that contains the word “dog”. Don’t be surprised to see
a clipart of a hot dog vendor!
- Right-click on
the clipart you’d like. Select “Insert”

Formatting a graphic - When
you click on a graphic it will become “selected”. Once it is selected you
can format, resize, and/or edit it. Before you start, make sure that the
Picture Toolbar is available. It looks like this: |

1. Click on the graphic
to be edited.
2. Use the tools in the Picture toolbar to adjust the graphic. |

| Sometimes when you insert an image,
it looks like the image on the right. 1. Right-click on
the clipart. Select “Format Picture”.
2. Click on the “Layout" tab.
3. Choose what type of layout you would like.
4. Click “Advanced”. You might want to remove the “Move
object with text” selection.
5. Click OK, then click OK again.

Resizing Clipart |
1. Select the graphic..
2. Notice the 8 “handles that surround the image
3. The handle in each corner will resize the image proportionally.
4. The handle in the center of each edge will stretch the image.
5. Place your mouse over a handle, hold down the left-mouse button and
drag to resize.
