Some of the special events we look forward to in first grade are listed below.

bullet One Hundred Days Celebration – We count each day of school and have a special celebration when we reach the 100th day.  Your child’s teacher will contact you with details in February.
bullet Stuffee – Each year, Stuffee visits from the Saratoga Children’s Museum as an enrichment activity to support our first grade Health curriculum.
bullet Field Trips – We plan two field trips in the spring to coordinate with our Science curriculum units on the solar system and animals.  We usually visit the Schenectady Museum and Planetarium and a local zoo.
bullet Animal Project – As a culmination activity for our animal unit on vertebrates, each of the children constructs a clay animal in its natural habitat using a shoebox for display.  The projects will be on display in the primary cafeteria during the annual budget vote.  More information will follow.
bullet Field Day – In June, Grades 1-3 participate in a morning filled with cooperative outdoor games and events.
bullet Teddy Bear Picnic – This is a fun, end-of-year activity for the children and their favorite stuffed friends.
