We are reading books with the animal theme in the weeks to
come. We work on vocabulary, comprehension and written
responses to the literature for every classread. |

WRITING |
We keep journals and learn
to write book reviews and descriptive paragraphs. Most of
our writing is in the form of responses to literature we read. |

MATH |
In
Math we are practicing problem solving, addition up to 4-digits,
column addition, and counting change up to $100.00.

SCIENCE |
Animal life cycles,
habitats, food chains, adaptation, ecosystems, and how people
and climate effect animal populations. |
SOCIAL
STUDIES |
Geography is our first topic
of the year, and we continue to learn about maps, landforms, and continents.
Our current chapter is Communities and Geography. |

HEALTH |
We completed a
unit on safety. Family health is the
topic of our current Health unit. In chapter two we learn about
human life cycles, how families grow and change, basic needs,
and cells and growth rates. |
