Ways To Make A Difference by Getting Involved And Becoming a Mentor.

  • Be a positive role model
  • Reinforce positive workplace behaviors, like teamwork, positive attitude, integrity and timeliness
  • Help students focus on future goals
  • Discuss careers students may pursue in your area of interest
  • Encourage students to explore career options

An internship provides a mentoring relationship that allows an exchange of service in which students gain skills while assuming a responsible role in the community.  We believe that people learn better when they are useful and appreciated for what they already know, as the intern would be when he/she provides a meaningful service to you.  As a mentor, you offer practical skills and knowledge--the basic nuts and bolts of how-you-do  - what-you-do.  You are repaid  you're your time and energy by the intern's work.  The Greenwich Work Experience Program Coordinator acts to assist you and the intern in creating and carrying out your exchange.
