E-mail Mrs. Niles

Preparing for the test:
     ORGANIZE CLASS HANDOUTS:

Keep notes, worksheets, quizzes and tests organized.

KEEP UP WITH NOTES AND READINGS.
Use the night before for reviewing old material, not for learning new material.

REVIEW NOTES AND READINGS DAILY.
Forgetting takes its greatest toll in 24 hours!
Review daily so you can clear up any questions while the material is still fresh in your mind.
Periodic reviews should help you do better on tests.
Also, you should need less time to study on the night before the test.

MAKE FLASHCARDS.
    Try:
Questions on one side, answers on the other.
     Terms on one side, definitions on the other;
Lists on one side, questions on the other; or,
Formulas on one side, meanings on the other.

GET ACTIVELY INVOLVED!
Do MORE than read it over!
Use as many senses as possible when you study!!
     Read it.
Say it. (Put it to music...or say it with a rhythm.)
     Write it.
(Do all three at the same time for reinforcement.)

STUDY WITH A BUDDY OR PARENT.
     Have them quiz you.

WRITE QUESTIONS IN THE MARGINS OF YOUR NOTES
Try answering them at a later time.

DEVELOP QUESTIONS
     Practice answering them.
This is especially useful for essay test.

HIGHLIGHT KEY IDEAS
Highlight important points in your notes.
Review key ideas at a later time.

GET ENOUGH SLEEP.
Go to bed at your normal time the night before a test.
Also, eat something in the morning.

THINK POSITIVELY.
Attitude affects your study time and your performance on the test.
Being well prepared will help you to think positively.

ON THE TEST:

Read all directions.
     Answer all questions.
     Use all given conditions.
     Mark your answers clearly.

FOR EXTENDED RESPONSE QUESTIONS:
     A.T.Q.
     (A
nswer The Question!!)

     Re-read your answer.
Be sure you have answered the question.
    Use math vocabulary when possible.
