Course Description
The basic problem this course addresses is how living things, including humans, maintain "life." Maintaining life necessarily involves both internal processes and interactions with the outside world - both of which we will study in some detail this year.
Lab Requirement
This course does not have a Lab component. However, we will do labs and they will count toward your final grade. We will do as many labs as we can fit in this year ~ 10-15 laboratory assignments. We will also look at how to organize a lab report and spend some significant time developing a formal report.
Regents Examination
As a student in Biology A you will not take a Regents in Science at the end of the school year. You will take your exam at the end of next year. The information you gather this year and the lab experience you gain will ultimately help you in passing that exam.
