Brooke Clark Shannon – Class of 1997

After graduating from GCS, Brooke attended Providence College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Policy and Management.

Since completing college in 2001, Brooke has been working in the Clinical Research industry. She spent a few years living in Boston, working at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, before moving back to Greenwich. She has been working at Criterium, Inc, in Saratoga Springs NY for the last seven years. Brooke is Operations Manager, overseeing clinical research in areas such as, allergy/asthma, oncology, dermatology, gastroenterology, and infectious diseases. Brooke notes that: Working on Clinical trials that receive FDA approval is very rewarding.”

Brooke was an outstanding student in high school and she recalls “I worked very hard to do well and always had the support of a great faculty and a wonderful family. This is something that continues, still, in my workplace: I have a great team of coworkers and my wonderful family. When you work hard for something and get rewarded for it, whether it is good grades or a promotion, it keeps pushing you to go further and further. I believe that GCS instilled in me basic principals of commitment, strength and determination that have helped shape who I am today.

Brooke notes that certain GCS teachers had special impact on her “Mrs. Buckley, Ms. Collins (Whiteford) and Mr. Morabito probably had the most influence on me. Each in their own way, they showed me what it meant to do your best and to do it for yourself, not just for others… to keep pushing yourself even when you want to quit …and to have a good time and not take yourself too seriously.”

Brooke identifies the qualities of “…organizational skill, attention to detail and problem solving…as very important pieces of my everyday life at home (being a wife and mother) and at work (managing staff and my time).

College degree and professional career notwithstanding, Brooke easily embraces “…my two sons-Owen and Greyson!” as her greatest accomplishments. “I am very honored to be their mother and hope to pass along to them all the great things that GCS instilled in me.”

Brooke is the daughter of Dana Clark and Kimberly Ives McQuade, each of Greenwich.
Her three siblings include Brittany Clark Conlin (GCS ’96), Gregory Clark (‘00) and Sophie Clark (‘18) Brooke lives in Greenwich, with her husband, Keith Shannon (GCS ‘97) and sons, Owen (2 ½ years old) and Greyson (1 year old).
