LTC Mike Pemrick is
a 1979 graduate of Greenwich Central School. He is currently
serving as the Deputy Brigade Commander for the 3rd
Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division out of Ft. Carson
Colorado. The Brigade has just been deployed to Operation Iraqi
Freedom.
Mike has been in
the Army for twenty-one years. Prior to his most recent assignment,
he was Commander of the 5th Ranger Training Battalion in
Dahlonega Georgia. This battalion was responsible for conducting the
Mountain Phase of the US Army’s Ranger School. Mike has also served
with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Operation Iraqi Freedom
and Operation Enduring Freedom. His other assignments include tours
in Korea, Germany and England.
Mike
is the son of John and Roxy Pemrick and has three siblings: Dan
(80), Dave (85) and Julie (89), all graduates of GCS. Mike has
numerous nieces and nephews attending GCS, including “Sudden” Sam
and Mel Steinberg and Ellis, Ruby,Tessa and Darren Pemrick. Another
nephew, Jackson Vanderhoff will attend GCS after completing an
extended stay in nursery school. Other nieces and nephews include
Ellie and Taylor Vanderhoff and future GCS attendee Roxy
VanDerhoff.
While at Greenwich,
Mike recalls “…many great teachers. Mr. Roods was my most
influential and Dr. Fitzgerald was an outstanding role model. I also
received some great teaching from Mr Worthington, Mr Kuba, Mr
Sheffield and Ms Quenelle among others.” Mike participated in
football and track and field during high school and also delivered
the Post Star, worked as a busboy at Wallie's and was an Alter Boy at
St Joseph’s Church. After graduation from high school Mike received
a Bachelor of Science degree from Plattsburgh State.
Mike and his wife Jeannie have two sons, Jack (8
years old) and Luke (6). Some the boys’ fondest memories are visits
to Greenwich.
