Linda Donovan-Peluso - Class of 1983

Linda is the daughter of Ronald and Helen Dixson of Easton (GCS Class of 1953 graduates). In the Fall of 1983, Linda enrolled at Siena College, on an academic scholarship, and went on to graduate magna cum laude in 1987.  She next accepted a scholarship to attend Albany Law School where she was a member of the Justinian Society and graduated cum laude in 1990.

Linda’s career climb has been as impressive and fast-tracked as her educational path. In 1990, she joined Overton, Russell, Doerr & Donovan, LLP, of Clifton Park, NY. In 1995 she became a partner and in 2005 she was named managing partner.

When she has time, Linda loves to travel. She has been to the Caribbean several times and Disneyworld on many other occasions. Recently, she took a cruise to Italy and France. She also loves to read and spend time with family and friends.

At GCS, Linda learned to “…work hard, study hard and enjoy time with friends.” She especially remembers teachers who were “…dedicated to their jobs and to the students they taught…most of them tried to make a difference in students’ lives.”  Linda was a prominent athlete on the GCS field hockey and basketball teams and her coach in both, athletic director Eileen Troy, remembers her fondly. “Linda was a gifted, outstanding scholar-athlete. She always gave her best and was successful in everything she did, but what I remember most about her was that she was kind and compassionate to others.” Linda has maintained her interest in sports and today enjoys playing golf.

Asked about qualities necessary for success in the legal field, Linda identifies “…hard work, knowledge of your area of practice and good relationships with clients.” On a
