NOTE:  This course is tentatively not scheduled to be offered beginning in the 2010-2011 school.  Students interested in this course should take Keyboarding/Computer Essentials or ACC Bus 100 Word Processing in Windows.

Computer Applications Course Description:

 

This is an ever-changing course and one that will assist you a great deal in the future.  We will include sections on word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation programs and graphing.  We will also cover using Windows effectively, e-mail, purchasing a computer and the impact of computers in society.  It is very important that class time be used wisely in completing projects. Topics will include, but not be limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher ( Publisher will be used to create Web Pages)

Virtual Computer Library - Gives access to full text articles, abstracts or indexes to computer magazines such as Adobe Magazine, BYTE Magazine, Computer Forum, Computer Shopper, Internet Magazine, PC Computing and many more.

What Is It? - This is a great place for looking up computer terms, modem/connection speeds, how the Internet works or e-mail tips for beginners.

Net lingo - This is an on-line dictionary. An excellent place to look up internet/computer terms.
