- - Working Together, Making A Difference - - What is IST??
The Instructional Support Team was formed for the purpose of
developing multi-disciplinary interventions an Academic Intervention Service teacher and school psychologist. IST may also include a speech pathologist, the previous year’s teacher, school nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist and administrator. These services are part of the IST and offer expertise in fine and gross motor development and modifications, sensory processing, motor planning, and adaptations that can help students to maximize their participation in their classroom settings. We work with students who have various communication disorders in kindergarten through high school. As a team, we will conduct formal and informal assessments to determine each individual student's strengths and needs in the areas of speech and language.
